Looks are Deceiving

Looks are deceiving and what I mean by that is when one looks at Brianna, they probably see a "special" child but they also see a "healthy" child. "Healthy" is far from the truth. Every second of every day that Brianna continues to breathe is a gift from God. And now, more than ever. How do we do it? We live each and every day to the fullest. Really. Today I had soooo many chores to do but guess what, I sat on the floor with Brianna and sang songs, danced and played. Held her as close to me as I could, breathing in her scent. The chores could wait. She couldn't. I took her outside and pushed her in her swing. Took lots of smiley photos (but can't locate the cable to connect camera to computer right now....tomorrow, hopefully) Brianna is just like me and her dad, she LOVES fun, crazy things. Her favorite on the swing is to go round and's hard to be sad when you look at her smiling, happy face. We are so blessed.

  1. So true and so heartfelt! Our babies are so happy, but inside they are more fragile than other can see or imagine. Praying that you will get some answers.

  2. She is a gift to all of us. She really makes you slow down and think is this really that important right now or can it wait. Most of the time the things we think need or time and energy are not what we should be worrying about. When she smiles at you, you can not help but let everything else slip away. You are just focused on that beautiful face.

  3. Hey Brenda,
It was the bright spot of my day to have had the chance to meet Brianna and yourself. She has such a fun personality. Feel free to always pop in New Hope for Kids to visit and please let me know if there is anything we, or I, can deserve any help that we may be able to offer.

PS...Thanks for letting me hold her on the way to the car!

  6. Thank you for stopping by and giving me another opportunity to give you both another hug.Brianna has never been far from my thoughts.Thank you for allowing me to be there for you and for her on her last day here on earth. What a beautiful angel she must be.For such a little person she accomplished so much and touched many. She taught us all a lot that day and we are all blessed to have known her, even if for a short time.I have to tell you, both of you,Brianna's mom and dad that you have also touched me.You both could light up a room with the love you showed her.The dignity and courage you showed her.You gave her her wings and let her go when you needed too.You are inspiring.Brianna felt your love and knew you would be okay. What special parents you are.Thank you for sharing your special little girl with us and for teaching us all a lesson about how to love and let go.God bless you always.Always know your beautiful angel will never be forgotten.......keep singing with the angels Brianna, we hear you <3 Nurse Amy
