Comfort Care

Brianna and Grandpa Botts several weeks ago

Looking all pretty in my mom-designer hospital gown

Momma Kathy loves me....and I love her

We are home from the hospital. Met with the cardiologist today. Brianna's pulmonary hypertension is so severe that there is nothing more that can be done in her particular case. We have chosen comfort care at this time. Brianna will be on oxygen to help alleviate the tightness in her chest. Of course we don't know what God's plan is at this time but we do know that God has a plan for every single one of us and the amount of time we will be here on this earth. Faith. We must continue to have faith. As I have said before, we continue to be grateful to God for allowing us to be the caretakers of Brianna for this time. I think I can rightly boast that God must be proud of us for how well we have taken care of her because he has continued to allow her to bless our lives.

  1. Sad to hear this news but rejoicing with you that Brianna is home. Love knows no bounds~thanks for updating us. Praying for you all.

  2. Brenda,
You and your family have been the best family that Brianna could ever have. You have been so wonderful to share your joys and struggles with everyone via your blog. It has been a pleasure to witness. I do not believe that true love can exist without sacrifice and indeed it has been a wonderful journey of love.

Thank you for the update and you will all be in our prayers at this time. You have done everything humanly possible and it is in God's hands now. Peace be with you.

  3. my heart breaks with yours as you make these hard decisions, and journey this road....i am CERTAIN as well of God's hand over your hearts as He shows all of us His perfect and complete daughter Brianna and YOU and says to us all..."this is my beloved, of whom i am pleased." He is so pleased with you.

I have also longed for these words from my heavenly father...longed for them to come by way of His hands and feet here on earth. I pray i may be this to you all now.

Offering up my night, my tears, my prayers for Brianna and you. Thank you for the hope!!!

    peace of Christ,

Praying that if it be God's Will he will give her more days free of discomfort. Knowing she was so blessed to be in your family and that I am aching for your family and this new news.

  18. Dear Brenda,
Oh honey I don't know you but we are sisters in Christ and also because we are "special mom", my son 20 mos. old, Noah has Down syndrome. Your amazing blog on your beautiful princess angel has touched my heart incredibly. Even though I am so heartbroken and cannot wrap my mind around how you must be feeling, I know that the Lord is keeping you strong in his arms. It will all come full circle for greatness. You and your lovely family are in our prayers. Thank you so much for sharing your Brianna with us.
